Last Friday, Donita Jordan, a legal assistant with the McDermott Law Firm in Canon City, Colorado, attended a seminar entitled "Medicine & Diagnostics - Practical Problems with Solutions," sponsored by the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA), in Denver, Colorado.

Ms. Jordan commented that this was one of the most practical personal injury seminars she had attended in a long time.  The many car crash victims that the firm represents will be well served by the additional practical knowledge she acquired concerning modern medical diagnostic techniques and information often hidden in medical records.

Speakers included Christopher J. Centeno, MD, Greg Hipskind, MD, PhD, Evan Katz, DC, Jeffrey B. Kleiner, MD, M. Susan Kudla, David Oppenheimer, MD, Joseph Ramos, MD, and John Roth, MD.

Topics covered included "Practical Problems and Solutions in Proving Causation," "New Technologies in Orthopedic Surgery," anatomy, MRIs, nerve conduction testing and myofacial pain.

Ms. Jordan is a Professional Legal Secretary and currently is in school to obtain a bachelor's degree in Legal Assisting.  She joined the McDermott Law Firm in July, 2005.
